The Holidays are typically my favorite time of year! They can however be very stressful for a homeowner. Between getting everything ready for guests, shopping, planning- the list never ends! Something we wanted to remind our customers about this Holiday Season is this: treating your drains with care. We recommend that our customers take the extra time to be mindful of their plumbing system. The last thing you want or need is one of our plumbers showing up just in time for dessert during your holiday dinner!
-When preparing foods in large quantities, don’t abuse your garbage disposal! Stay clear of putting things such as potato peels, orange/lemon/lime rinds, pasta, rice, and apple cores down your drain. We never recommend putting these particular foods down the drain. It is better to be safe than sorry!
-Grease and kitchen sink lines do not mix!
-Treat your drains with a bio-friendly enzyme concentrate- it will work behind the scenes to break up any food particles, grease, or hair that may be currently residing in your drains.
– Understand that a full house means extra use of your system. If your drains are acting up before you have company, you may want to have them looked at before you add more people into the mix.
– When in doubt, throw it out! If you are unsure whether or not something will successfully go through your drain system, find another way to dispose of it!
If you have any questions about drain problems and solutions, you know who to call! Thank you for reading
